Vitcas High Temperature Spray Paint - Black | 800°C Heat Resistant

VITCAS Black Heat Resistant Spray Paint is a silicone resin-based, high-temperature spray designed to withstand heat exposure up to 800°C (1472°F). It is ideal for painting furnaces, heaters, barbecues, boilers, radiators, exhaust pipes, flues, chimneys, and other equipment exposed to intense heat. The paint also provides anti-corrosive base protection and is suitable for both domestic and industrial applications.

It adheres exceptionally well to bare metal surfaces, including carbon steel casings, VITCAS High Temperature Plasterboards, CS Fireplace Construction Boards, Vermiculite Boards, and other fire resistant and insulation boards.  It is also suitable for spraying gas fire coals, providing a reliable, heat-resistant black finish.

Application Instructions

  • Surface Preparation: Ensure the surface is clean, dry, and free from grease.

  • Primer: Do not apply primer.

  • Rust Treatment: Lightly grind rusted surfaces for better adhesion.

  • Application Temperature: Apply between 15°C and 25°C in a well-ventilated area.

  • Spray Technique: Shake the can vigorously for 2 minutes. Spray from approximately 30 cm away, applying multiple thin layers while shaking the can between coats.

Drying & Curing:

  • Tack-free and touch-dry in approximately 15 minutes

  • Fully cured after heating the surface to 160°C for 1 hour (some smoke may occur during curing)

Drying time may vary depending on temperature, humidity, and paint thickness.

Storage & Disposal: Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and temperatures above 50°C. Do not empty contents into drains. Dispose of unused product and container as hazardous waste in accordance with local regulations.

Is heat resistant spray paint suitable as a BBQ COVER SPRAY I.E. food safe?
The heat resistant spray paint is designed for use on metal surfaces which are subject to high temperatures such as barbecues and stoves but has not been tested for use in direct contact with the food.
Can this be used on the inside of a fire pit?
The Vitcas Heat Resistant Spray Paint in Black is designed for use on bare metal or vermiculite board for temperatures not exceeding 800oC (1472oF).

Can this be used on the inside of a microwave door?
The Heat Resistant Spray Paint has not been tested for food safety.
I’ve sprayed my oven pan supports with a good few coats of spray, do I now have to put in the oven at 160 degrees to cure it hard?
No, the paint can be left to dry at room temperature.

Heat resistant paint is generally designed for use on bare metal.
Can I use this paint to spray a limestone back panel and hearth before fitting a bioethanol stove? It is replacing an inset gas fire.
Generally, the paint is for bare metal or vermiculite surfaces.
Is this suitable for metal surfaces that may not get to 160 degrees - i.e. will the paint harden fully or will it peel/fall off if not taken to 160 degrees for at least an hour?
It should be fine for use below 160oC.
Can you use this on glass, i.e. light bulbs?
No, our spray paints are for bare metal and vermiculite.
