High Temperature Fireboard – Fire Resistant

VITCAS HT - High Temperature Plasterboard is a fire-resistant, non-combustible, non-gypsum board designed for areas where traditional gypsum plasterboards are unsuitable. VITCAS HT Fireboard offers superior fire protection, with a fire rating that ensures the highest level of safety. HT Fireboard also provides a smooth, durable surface, ideal for use with Vitcas Heat Resistant Plaster. In addition to its fireproofing properties, the board is waterproof and mould-resistant, making it perfect for high-temperature environments where both safety and aesthetics are essential.

Key Features of HT Fireboard:

  • Non-combustible (A1 rating), compliant with EN 13501-1:2002
  • Fire-resistant, waterproof, mould and mildew resistant, and environmentally friendly
  • Size: 1200x800x12mm

Applications:

  • Suitable for brick or block walls, fire-rated wall and ceiling boards, boiler areas, tile backing ('tile backer' board), inside fire doors, and as a fire barrier on thatched roofs.

Installation:

  • For painting, fix with the smooth face showing.
  • For skimming with Heat Resistant Plaster or tiling, fix with the rough reverse face showing.
  • The board can be cut and drilled with conventional woodworking tools.
  • Use screws, insulation fixings, Vitcas BA Board Adhesive, or Vitcas HB60 Hydraulic Bonded Adhesive 'Dot and Dab' for installation.
  • Screws: Place at 300mm centres, 15mm from the edge of the board, using countersunk screws (size 6 or 8, 35-40mm long).
  • Insulation fixings: Use an 8mm pre-drilled hole.
  • For a smooth masonry surface, use Vitcas Board Adhesive (approx. 3mm thickness), or for uneven surfaces, use HB60 Dot and Dab.

Note: When a supporting framework is required, use Vitcas Construction Board. For cassette stoves or inset stoves with exposed metal surrounds, the Vitcas Render and Plaster system or Vitcas Construction Boards are recommended.

Finishing Options:

  1. High Temperature Plasterboard, Heat Resistant Filler & Paint

    • Use Vitcas Heat Resistant Filler on joints. Sand once dry, then paint with emulsion.
  2. High Temperature Plasterboard & Heat Resistant Plaster

    • For plastering, fix with the rough face showing. Use Vitcas Heat Resistant Filler and Scrim Tape on joints. Ensure boards are dry before plastering and seal with neat PVA before applying plaster.
  3. High Temperature Plasterboard & Heat Resistant Tile Adhesive

Storage: Store the boards flat in a cool, dry place above 5°C. Avoid stacking on their edge to prevent damage. If storing outside, cover pallets with a protective sheet. Always carry boards vertically.

Health and Safety: Classified as non-hazardous, but precautions should be taken against dust when drilling or sawing. Wear a mask and work in a well-ventilated area.

Customer Questions
Can this board be used behind a wood burning stove
No, we recommend rendering with the Fireplace Render or alternatively using Vermiculite Board or Fireplace Construction Board.
Is it flexible? It's needed to create an arch...
