VITCAS Refractory Castable 1700 offers superior quality, performance and longevity for all high-temperature applications. VITCAS Castable Refractory tolerates extreme heat up to 1700°C (3090°F), making it ideal for a range of industrial applications such as furnace linings and lining barrels, as well as a great choice for home foundry projects including lining metal drums to create small-scale crucible furnaces. Its high-temperature tolerance makes it suitable even for melting cast iron. Its unique formulation ensures excellent resistance to abrasion, erosion, and chemical attacks, guaranteeing long-lasting durability.

Key Features:

  • Exceptional Heat Resistance: Withstands temperatures up to 1700°C (3090°F).
  • Superior Durability: Resistant to abrasion, erosion, and chemical attack.
  • Versatile: Perfect for furnace linings, kilns, and incinerators.
  • Convenient Packaging: Available in a 25 kg dry mix bucket for easy mixing.
  • Easy to Use: Simply mix with water to achieve a workable consistency.

Applications:

  • Furnace Linings: Ideal for lining furnace interiors, providing excellent insulation and structural protection at high temperatures.
  • Incinerators: Withstands high heat and chemical exposure, making it perfect for incinerator linings.
  • Cast Iron Work: Its structural strength and heat resistance make it suitable for cast iron work where durability is key.
  • Home Foundry Projects: Great for hobbyists creating crucible furnaces, moulds, or linings for melting metals or glass.

Instructions for Use:

  1. Prepare the area: Ensure the surface is clean and dry.
  2. Mixing: Pour the dry refractory mix into a clean container. Gradually add 2 litres of water per 25 kg bucket.
  3. Consistency: Mix thoroughly to achieve a smooth, workable consistency-neither too runny nor too thick.
  4. Application: Use a trowel or formwork (such as a plastic pipe) to shape and apply the mixture as needed.
  5. Drying: Allow the mixture to air dry for 24-48 hours, depending on thickness and ambient conditions.
  6. Final Steps: Once dried, carefully remove any formwork or shuttering, if used.

Customer Questions
Hi, Is it possible for me to order just 10kg, I've already used 2x 25kg containers and am just a little short for finishing my project. I don't really want to order another 25kg, the project has already gone way over budget. Thanks, Andrew
No, the VITCAS Refractory Castable Grade 1700 is only available in a 25kg bucket.
