Rope lagging made of glass fiber is a highly effective insulation material composed of a core of parallel glass fiber strands enclosed within a braided cover of glass yarn. This insulation material is specially crafted to provide superior thermal insulation properties, which makes it an excellent solution for a wide range of applications.

Characteristics:

  • Soft and pliable: The rope lagging is ultra soft and pliable, making it easy to handle and install in tight spaces.
  • Excellent thermal insulation: It has excellent thermal insulation properties, which makes it ideal for use in high-temperature environments.
  • Chemical resistant: The rope lagging is resistant to oils, solvents, and most chemicals, making it suitable for use in harsh environments.
  • High temperature resistance: The lagging ropes can withstand temperatures up to 550°C /1020°F.

Applications:

The rope lagging is versatile and can be used for various applications. Some of the common uses of lagging ropes include:

  • Packing expansion joints: The lagging rope is ideal for filling gaps between surfaces that move relative to each other, such as expansion joints in buildings or machinery.
  • Sealing and gap filling: It can be used for filling gaps and sealing between fire backs and fire surrounds to prevent heat loss.
  • Insulation: It is commonly used for wrapping around hot pipes and flues to provide an additional insulation layer, which helps to reduce heat loss and improve energy efficiency.

Instructions:

  1. Measure the length and diameter of the area to be insulated.
  2. Cut the rope lagging to the appropriate length.
  3. Wrap the rope lagging around the area to be insulated, making sure that it is tight and secure.
  4. Secure the rope lagging in place using adhesive tape or wire if necessary.
