Heat-Resistant Fire Bricks - Ideal for Pizza Ovens, Furnaces & Fireplace Construction

Vitcas® Heat Resistant Fire Bricks are expertly engineered refractory clay bricks designed to perform in the most demanding high-temperature environments, withstanding heat up to 1300°C (2400°F). Whether you're building a wood-fired pizza oven, upgrading a fireplace, or lining a furnace, stove, or barbecue, these robust fire bricks deliver reliable thermal stability, mechanical durability, and long-term energy efficiency. Trusted by both professionals and DIY builders, they are ideal for a wide range of indoor and outdoor heat-intensive applications.

Characteristics

  • Heat Resistance: Rated for continuous exposure to temperatures up to 1300°C / 2400°F, making them ideal for extreme heat applications in both domestic and industrial settings.

  • Size and Weight: Each fire brick measures 230 x 114 x 32mm (9" x 4½" x 1¼") and weighs approximately 1.75 kg, offering a slim yet solid profile for various refractory builds.

  • Alumina Content: Contains a minimum of 40% alumina (Al₂O₃), providing excellent refractoriness, structural integrity, and chemical resistance at high temperatures.

  • Durability: Designed to endure repeated thermal cycling and direct flame exposure, ensuring consistent performance and longevity even in intense operating conditions.

  • Installation Compatibility: Fully compatible with Vitcas Heatproof Mortar, Outdoor Oven Cement, and Heatproof Screed, depending on the application and joint thickness.

Applications

  • Domestic & Commercial Use: Perfect for constructing or repairing pizza ovens, bread ovens, smokehouses, barbecue grills, fireplaces, wood-burning stoves, furnaces, boilers, circulators, and fire pits.

  • Indoor Installations: Use with Vitcas Heatproof Mortar for 3-5 mm joints to ensure a strong bond and high thermal resistance in enclosed environments.

  • Outdoor Installations: Apply Vitcas Outdoor Oven Cement for 5-10 mm joints or Vitcas Heatproof Screed for larger gaps and structural filling, offering superior weather resistance and stability.

  • Energy Efficiency: The bricks' thermal mass helps store and gradually release heat, reducing fuel consumption and maintaining consistent internal temperatures for longer periods.

  • Safety: Designed to safely contain and manage high heat, reducing the risk of heat loss or fire hazards in refractory constructions.

Manufacturing Tolerance and Variations:

Please note that due to the inherent manufacturing process, there may be slight variations of +/-3mm in the size of the bricks. Similarly, subtle colour variations may occur between bricks, which does not affect the product's performance. It is also normal to find small chips on the bricks; this is not a product fault but rather a characteristic of the fire clay brick. These can be easily covered by Mortar or Cement, if required.
